Grace is a dedicated music teacher, performer, artist, photographer and actress in St.Catharines, Ontario.  Grace’s main focus is the fiddle (Celtic, Old Time, Bluegrass…etc) but also teaches classical violin, guitar, ukulele, voice, beginner piano and other various stringed instruments.

Grace began playing classical violin at the age of 9 and after attending the Orangeville Fiddle and Step Dance Camp when she was 13, she took a serious interest in fiddle music. Grace has been performing professionally since the age of 14 and teaching by the age of 17.

Grace has had the opportunity to teach for 4 years with the Niagara Elementary Instrument Music program, perform with the Niagara Youth orchestra, perform at the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Theatre for the last 7 seasons as their house fiddler and guitarist, she was in a band for 11 years called “Fear The Worst”, she has performed on stages throughout Canada and the US and currently is involved in a duo called “Mel & Grace” with Melissa Penner (Vocals & Guitar). She took 1stplace in the St.Catharine’s Fiddle contest in the duet fiddle category with Katie Korfmann, won a London Theatre Dish award (Sullivan & Gilbert) and is a proud member of the St.Catharine’s Old Tyme Fiddlers Association.

While teaching, Grace finds it important that each student is able to learn and have fun while doing it. Music is supposed to be a way to express yourself and Grace caters each lesson to the individual student based on their needs and goals.

When Grace isn’t teaching she is performing with her duo (Mel & Grace) working on her small business (Grace Made) and spending time with her husband and son.
